When joy returns after loss, it can feel confusing

Hey, if you’re someone who smiles at the small stuff, gets a little teary over a kind word, or craves moments that feel real in the middle of all the noise — you’re in the right spot. I share gentle encouragement, behind-the-scenes peeks, printable treats made with heart, and simple ways to bring more meaning (and magic) into your everyday. Because joy doesn’t need to be loud to be life-changing. Sometimes it’s just a quiet moment, fully felt.

Hi friend,

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule.
There’s no neat timeline. No “moving on.”
Just… life after.

And lately, it’s been stirring again.

A date on the calendar. A memory that showed up without warning. A newsletter from someone I admire, sharing her own story of loss and healing.

It reminded me of something I think we all need to hear sometimes:
You can grieve and still feel joy.
You can cry in the morning and laugh at dinner.
You can miss someone with your whole heart and still love the life you’re building.

It’s not wrong.
It’s not disloyal.
It’s love, continuing in a new form.

If today feels heavy, or if you’ve been carrying grief quietly in the background of your days, I wrote something for you.

It’s tender. It’s honest. And I hope it meets you right where you are.

You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re living love in a new way.
And the light they left in you? It’s still shining.

With all my heart,
Danette 🧡
